Village Angler Bass Fishing Guide Service

Lake Miona
Lake Weir

Lake Miona: (Approx. 500 acres) is a spring fed, dishpan shaped natural lake, comprised of a sandy loam bottom with little silt and muck buildup. The average depth is 5-6 feet, with the primary vegetation being Pepper Grass, and scattered bottom-hugging Shrimp, Southern Naiad, and Musk grasses.

Lily pad groups are found in the softer, silted portions of the lake, primarily along the western and northeastern shorelines. The water quality of Lake Miona is FAIR, as its primary inflow now is rain/runoff from the surrounding communities that make up The Villages of Lady Lake, and their golf courses. Inherent Springs help to keep water levels up, especially during extended drought periods.

PUBLIC ACCESS: Lake Miona Park has limited paved trailer parking, with some grassy overflow parking adjacent to the public restrooms. There is a single, paved ramp with a floating loading dock. There are several covered picnic pavilions next to a sandy beach, and there is a floating fishing dock adjacent to the boat ramp.
